Unclaimed property search.
Use official state unclaimed property systems first. Search current names, previous names, old addresses, prior states, business names, and deceased-relative records where relevant.
Rule: search widely, but claim only through official or verified channels.
Search order
- Search your current state.
- Search every state where you lived, worked, owned property, paid utilities, or had bank accounts.
- Search maiden names, married names, initials, misspellings, and old addresses.
- Search business names, DBAs, dissolved entities, and old employer/vendor names.
- For relatives, search full legal name, old addresses, and states lived in.
Before submitting a claim
- Confirm the site belongs to an official state treasurer, comptroller, revenue, treasury, or equivalent agency.
- Read the document requirements for that exact property ID.
- Do not pay an upfront fee to release money.
- Do not upload identity documents to random search-result sites.
